Moms have made my life more vibrant and parenting a joy. Without moms in my life I would probably be an extreme introvert (no offence to all the introverts out there – I just believe balance is good). While I can maybe imagine writing some sort of interesting intellectual book on my own, I have learned so much from having moms in my life and life has been so rich because of them.
Moms have taught me:
(1) The power of talking things through and being able to express how one feels about something before making decisions.
(2) The importance of bonding time. Although my dad has had a hand in teaching me this too, moms do it at different level.
(3) The good of a social network. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter cannot teach this by themselves and many of their efforts are misguided. I strongly believe the nurturing bonds that moms develop with us throughout our lives teach us how to reach out to others and care in our extended social relationships. Moms are crucial Church builders and much needed guides in our lives.
Bottom line? I love moms and I think they deserve our efforts to serve and appreciate them. Happy Mother’s Day!!
